Black History Month is a time to honour the legacy and achievements of the Black community. It serves as a reminder of significant milestones that have shaped history, enriched culture, and fuelled progress. It is also a tribute to the strength, resilience, and creative power of the Black community, whose contributions inspire change, break down barriers, foster connections, and build a more united and understanding world.
This February, York Regional Police warmly invite you to our annual Black History Month Celebration, an event dedicated to recognizing the remarkable contributions of the Black community. This year’s theme, “Culture Through the Arts” highlights the massive role Black art and culture play in transcending boundaries, sparking meaningful dialogue, and creating a space where unity, understanding, and cultural expression thrive. This event will showcase how creative expression unites and uplifts, while fostering a deeper sense of connection through the universal language of art.
