Registration for the York Regional Police Youth Crime Prevention Academy is now open for teenagers aged 13 to 17 living in York Region.

The Youth Crime Prevention Academy offers you important crime prevention information to protect yourself and your property, and to help you make good decisions. Over this four-week program, you will learn about crime and preventing crime, mental health, and get to know your local youth education officer.

This academy includes three weekly sessions from 7 to 9 p.m., plus an in-person session on Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

100 seats are open and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants who complete all four sessions will be awarded 20 volunteer hours and a certificate of completion.

How to register

Registration is required. Email the completed registration form to volunteers@yrp.ca by April 11 to book your seat.

Once registration is confirmed, participants will receive an email with joining instructions for each session.

Parental/guardian consent is required. Please ask your parent or guardian to sign the attached registration form.
