York Regional Police wants to keep everyone on our roads safe - including passengers too young to buckle themselves up.

York Regional Police has trained Child Passenger Safety Technicians who provide child restraint/car seat inspection clinics free of charge (reservation deposit required). These clinics take about one hour per seat, for anyone looking to have a child restraint or car seat inspected.

Every vehicle attending must have its own registered time slot.

If you have more than one car seat in the same vehicle you must register for two back-to-back time slots (we can not accommodate multiple car seats in the same vehicle in one time slot).

Space is limited.

The registration process now includes a $25 deposit per car seat inspection booking.

These funds are returned to the registrant when they attend the inspection.

These funds are not returned to those who cancel within 72 hours of the clinic or fail to attend.

All funds not returned at the end of 2026 will go to a YRP charity.

Appointments may be made approximately one month before the clinic date by using this registration link.

A Child Passenger Safety Technician will contact you to confirm the appointment.

When attending an appointment, please bring:

• Your vehicle owner’s manual (instructions)
• Your child restraint/car seat owner’s manual (instructions)
• Your child, if possible or know your child’s current age, height & weight information
• The attached Clinic Liability Waiver
